Day 34

... paint

I'm grateful that a lick of paint is all it takes to transform a room!

I'm so inspired right now!

Day 32

... pop-tarts!

Today I'm grateful for these completely nutritionally void, sugar packed treats! Terrible, I know.
I'm ashamed.

Day 31

... my mum

I'm grateful to her for so many reasons. Too many to list here. But today I'm thankful that she gave me these beautiful earrings. She bought them at the Eumundi Markets and they are stirling silver around vintage French buttons.

Aren't they gorgeous?

Day 30

... chickens

Ok, so I pinched this picture off Pinterest, but how gorgeous is this chicken coop!  I wish mine looked like that.  My poor girl's coop is falling apart, and is in dire need of repair.  I will get to it soon, because I am so grateful for what they give us - at least three eggs a day, they kill the mice and rats, and they give us plenty of entertainment. Who knew chickens could be so much fun?!

Day 29

... pre-cut and stuck book covers

Who ever invented these needs a medal!  These little pieces of plastic saved hours of my time, saved me from cyring tears of frustration, and let me enjoy my Sunday afternoon!  I'm so grateful.

Day 28

... baking

I love baking.  Today I made the loaf in the picture - super delicious, and pretty healthy too. It's Apple, Date and Pecan bread.  I'll post the recipe on The Everyday Mum when I get a moment.   I also made a batch of banana and chia muffins. They've just come out of the oven and smell divine!  I'm grateful I've had the time today to do it, and even more grateful that what I did bake has turned out so yummy.

Next on my cooking list is to learn how to make chicken and dumplings for my sweetheart. It's a dish his Mama makes.  Hopefully mine will be just as good.

Day 27

... lemons

These three beauties came from my lemon tree. They are giants - at least twice the size of a lemon from a supermarket!  The tree is literally dripping with fruit at the moment. The branches are drooping with the weight, and while most of them are still green right now, soon I'm going to have more lemons than I'll know what to do with!

Now, that's something to be grateful for, isn't it?

Day 26

... natural therapies!

I gave the boys a green clay mask treatment, complete with cucumber eye patches.  They loved it!  We followed it up with face moisturiser and a head massage.  They had better sleep well tonight!

Day 25

... my good friend and teacher, Mikailah

I'm always grateful for the knowledge and wisdom that Mikailah passes on to myself and the others in my circle. But today I also received a special gift - this beautiful owl vase.

Thanks Mikailah!

Day 24

... my two-drawer dishwasher

Boy, am I thankful it's been fixed!  Need I say more?

Day 23

... lollies!

It might be day 23 of my year of living gratefully, but it's the first day of me not smoking - ever again. I'm grateful today for my jar of lollies.  They helped me get through the cravings, which I might add, were really not that bad!

Day 22

... enthusiasm

Today I'm grateful for a son who is always enthusiastic, no matter what it is he does.  Here he is cooking scrambled eggs - all by himself - for all of us for breakfast.  Cooking has become a little passion of his. He's learning all the time, and loves to watch and ask questions.  He's made a few mistakes and had a few minor accidents, but each time has been a lesson. I'm confident in his ability to be safe - he's a big boy now!

He has his own blog now too! Keep an eye out for his next post - How to make Caramel Fudge!
