Day 21

... inch-worms

This little critter came off the lettuce I picked from the garden this morning.  I'm grateful he didn't eat it all, and I'm grateful my bug/insect loving son now has a new playmate!

Day 20

... my drinks of choice

Today I'm grateful for coffee (made for me by my boss!), and water. Both of these got me through a loooong day at work!  A little chocolate would have helped too, but alas, there was none...

Day 19 - Part 2

... summer rain

I've been waiting for rain like this for days. I'm grateful that the almighty Mother showered us today!

Day 19 - Part 1

... sage

I like nothing better than cleaning the house from top to bottom, and then giving every room a good old smudge!  I'm grateful for the powerful cleanse this beautiful bunch of sage gives to my home.

Day 18

... generations

Here is my daughter with her great-grandmother, Dorothy.  I'm so grateful that my kids get to spend time with their parents, grand-parents and great grand-parents. I never knew my great grand-parents and I do miss not having memories of them to share.

Day 17

... fun in nature

I'm grateful my kids get the chance to live out their adventures in gorgeous creeks and waterholes
so close to home!

Day 16

... love

I love these garden stakes. The patina changes on them all the time, and they move around as the earth moves - never in the same position. I love that they say love too. My favourite feeling, and I'm grateful I'm surrounded by so much of it.

Day 15

... my bench-top oven

It cooks the perfect roast and is so easy to clean.  This crackling was to die for!

Day 14

... local celebrations

I'm grateful we had the opportunity to celebrate Christmas with others in our neighbourhood.  I'm also grateful that we thought ahead and brought our own candles. We were the only ones there with real ones, and our little corner glowed brightly!

Day 13

... B-B-Berocca!

And after last nights star-mingling, I'm grateful for this little fizzy tablet!

Day 12

... star struck moments

I'm grateful for the opportunity to mingle with the stars, at my office Christmas party last night. Kirk Pengilly (INXS) was at the table next to ours and after dinner, entertained us with a few tunes!

Day 11

... fruit loving children

I'm thankful that this little fella's favourite dessert is a big bowl of watermelon and mango!

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Day 10

... clean, fresh sheets

I love them! So grateful that my thoughtful other half decided it was wash-day!

Monday, December 12, 2011

Day 9

... heaven's scent

I'm grateful for the heady fragrance of the Murraya that greets me in the parking lot each morning.

Sunday, December 11, 2011

Day 8

... my trusty slow-cooker

I'm thankful it's size allowed me cook enough Sloppy Joe meat to last us 3 meals!

Saturday, December 10, 2011

Day 7

... comfy shoes and a picnic rug.

After a long walk around the amazing gardens at Crystal Castle, we were grateful for a dry spot to sit, rest and eat.

Day 6

..... talented friends.

An 8 year old's dream came true today, when my friend Michael transformed my son's sketch into his very own cartoon super-hero. He's over the moon, and I'm grateful that Michael took the time to create this little masterpiece!

Day 5

... hand-made toys

They're crafted with love, and they endure hours of endless play. I'm grateful that my daughter loves all of hers, especially this hand-knitted Cinderella doll. Sweetness...

Day 4

... raindrops.

They've nourished our parched earth, they've fill my water tanks, and their sound has soothed my babies to sleep. So thankful...

Day 3

... Cletus and Laverne.

I'm thankful for the entertainment they provide, their pretty colours and the song that wakes us each morning.

Day 2

... my first eggplant blossom.

I'm grateful because it means that my vegie garden is thriving, and that soon we'll be harvesting some gorgeous organic food!

Introduction

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." - Melody Beattie

I'm on the gratitude bandwagon. This was going to be my project for 2012, but why wait? Gratitude is something that we should embrace as a part of our daily lives, and this blog is my little way of showing you the things I'm thankful for.

I hope it inspires you to look at what you could be grateful for too.

One picture at a time....

Day 1

.. half eaten Banana Pudding.

Even better on the second day! I'm grateful that my future mother-in-law, Thadys, entrusted me with her recipe. I have a feeling this is a dessert I'll be making a lot this summer!
